9:00 AM - 4:00 PM    Summer Fun Days Camp - Fun Days, Session 01
COVID-19 Camp Restrictions Our first priority is the health and safety of our community. All programs and events are subject to change and/or cancellation based on COVID-19 conditions and federal, state, and local mandates, regulations and guidelines. If masks are required by the State of CT Office of Early Childhood/Youth Camps Division  when their summer camp requirements come out later this year we will follow their directive. Campers will be in groups of no more than 10-14 with staff assigned to them. They would remain in that group for the entire week. The groups will be socially distanced and separated from each other at all times during the day. Intermingling or interaction between the groups and the counselors will be limited. The groups will rotate through activities during the day with sanitizing protocols taking place in between group rotation.Drop off and pick up will be curbside. Campers (along with their parents/guardian) will have to answer a set of questions prior to exiting the vehicle. If they have a temperature that is above 100 they will not be allowed into camp that day nor able to return until they are fever free without any medicine for 72 hours.Children exhibiting other symptoms such as cough, runny nose, rash etc. may be denied entrance to camp for the safety of other campers and our staff.There will be no field trips this year.We are hoping to still be able to bring in outside entertainers/activities however, that will only happen if they can prove to us that they can meet the State COVID-19 restrictions and requirements.Arts and crafts materials will not be allowed to be shared. Each camper will be given their own bag of arts and craft materials that they will use for the entire week. If they are attending multiple weeks we will hold onto the bag and replenish as necessary.We reserve the right to modify these restrictions/requirements and plans as deemed necessary or as mandated by the State. If families do not follow these restrictions/requirements we will not be able to allow the camper to continue to attend.On days where there is inclement weather camp will be held at Fawn Hollow Elementary SchoolAs of 4/15/21 at 9:37 pm, Session 7 & 10 are filled. Please utilize the waiting list in case any future openings occur. As of 4/16/21 at 8:45 am, Session 6 is filled. Please utilize the waiting list in case any future openings occur.As of 4/26/21 at 12:59 pm, Session 4 is filled. Please utilize the waiting list in case future openings occur. As of 4/29/21 at 4:49 pm, Session 5 & 8 are filled. Please utilize the waiting list in case future openings occur. As of 5/15/21 we have some additional openings in Session 1, 2 & 3. Wait list families from these sessions have been contacted.  PLEASE NOTE THAT THEMES AND ACTIVITIES CAN CHANGE AT ANY TIME:Session 1: Aloha SummerWe will kick off camp with Aloha Summer week. Campers will create their own lei's and celebrate the start of summer with a Popsicle party! In addition to swimming at Wolfe Park pool and Great Hollow Lake, campers will get to experience a high energy hula hoop show with comedy, hoop performances, and a chance to try it our yourself! Session 2: Summer SafariJoin us during Summer Safari week for an exploration of all things WILD! We will have an animal ambassador come to camp with a variety of exotic animals. Young explorers will be immersed in hands-on, minds-on learning while having fun and experiencing the amazing world of animals. Summer Safari week will end with a day of swimming and relaxing on the beach at Great Hollow Lake.Session 3: Party in the USA!Oh say can you see...all the fun this week will bring as campers celebrate the great Red, While, and Blue! Join us for a week of celebration about all things AMERICA including special crafts, games, and live entertainment. Campers will swim at Wolfe Park pool and finish the week with our 3rd annual All-American barbeque at Great Hollow Lake.Session 4: Sportstastic!Be a part of our Summer Fun Days team for Sportstastic week! We will play traditional sports such as soccer and basketball, playground sports such as dodgeball and kickball, and even inflatable sports brought to camp! Campers will be able to cool down with a swim at Wolfe Park pool and Great Hollow Lake.Session 5: Going for the GoldThis week of camp you will not want to miss! Teams will compete against each other in a variety of games and sports for a change to win the gold medal! To add to the fun, mini golf will be coming to camp this week. Make sure to dress in your team colors.Session 6: Adventureland  A week full of surprises and exploration. Campers will be sent of treasure hunts and scavenger hunts. In addition, campers will take a hike down to Great Hollow to learn how to make their own trail mix, and play some fun games. Of course not all adventures take place on land, campers will be able to swim in Wolfe Park pool and Great Hollow Lake!Session 7: Under the SeaMake sure you bring your bathing suit to camp this week. Campers will have the opportunity to swim in Wolfe Park pool and Great Hollow lake. Be prepared for water balloon fights, sprinklers, and slip and slides. You're sure to beat the summer heat this week!Session 8: Lights, Camera, Action!Show off your special talents! In addition to swimming, games, and sports, campers will learn about the arts this week. Campers will be able to tie-dye a shirt, see a magic show at the park, and even participate in a camp talent show.Session 9: Game Show ManiaCome on down, you're the next contestant on Monroe Parks and Recreation Summer Fun Days Camp! You will put your skills to the test to see who can come out on top as the Game Show Camp Winner of the Week. We will participate in popular game show activities throughout the week and even have a real game show with a host at camp for everyone to play.Session 10: Ninja WarriorCampers will test their abilities in a series of challenging games and obstacle courses! We will also be playing some fun games like "Ninja Hide 'N Seek" and "Ninja Tag." To celebrate the last day of Summer Fun Days Camp, we will be having a pizza party.YOU MUST DOWNLOAD AND SUBMIT (parksandrec@monroect.org) ALL PAPERWORK BELOW IN ADDITIONAL FILES.
