This 9-hour course, taught by volunteers or employees of the state Department of Energy and Environmental Protection Boating Division, is designed to fulfill the requirements for the Connecticut Safe Boating Certificate. The course also offers a diploma for the Personal Watercraft Operator's Certificate. Upon successful completion of the course, the student can send or bring the diploma, along with an application for certificate and the appropriate fee, to any state DEEP office to obtain either the Safe Boating Certificate or the Personal Watercraft Operator's Certificate. Students must attend all classes to qualify.

Prior to the day of the class, you must obtain your State of CT Conservation ID # at https://ct.outdoorcentral.net/InternetSales/Sales, there is no cost to obtain this number. If you have a hunting or fishing license you should already have the conservation number or will be able to retrieve it at the site.
