The route covers approximately one third of a mile and will take hikers past former mine shafts and the local landmark called the Whale Rock. In addition a variety of trees, ferns and wildflowers will be discussed. Great opportunity for seasonal photos. The terrain is suitable for all ages and abilities.

The trail head is at the rear of the former Chalk Hill School, 375 Fan Hill Road. Ample parking will be available at the former school site.
