Kids Corner Programs

This program is currently unavailable. Click here to view all of our current programs.

Kids Corner was launched to help children who could flourish with wholesome supervision after school. Homework clubs and "after care" may not embellish your child's learning. Instructors can offer your child learning and fun in one.

Aeronautics/Quadcopters/Hexacopters
Quadcopters are four-propeller aerial vehicles controlled from the ground. They are the most agile devices for flight - better than fixed-wing planes, rockets, drones or helicopters. Quadcopters have practical uses: their photography element allows users to survey property, monitor activity, assess farm needs, even rescue children or animals. Their delivery element allows for the easiest transport of light packets ever invented - they will soon be used to deliver mail.

Chess
Welcome to the wonderful game of chess. This class is for beginners. On the first day you will be introduced to all moves and give students basic offensive strategy. Day two will include counter-moves, defense and thinking three and four steps ahead. By the end of the second day all children will be playing their first games. Day three students will be given a series of "what if" situations, introduce playing with a clock and playing new people via computer chess. Days four and fie will consist of almost all game-playing, with a handicapped tournament at the end of each day. Stronger students will have to work within tighter time limits so the games can be competitive.

Speedy Chess
Kids Corner injects chess skills from beginner to advanced. They especially like starting with a group of raw beginners. Chess with Kids Corner helps students become more cerebral competitor and much of what they teach can be applied to other games and physical sports. The program will begin with group demonstrations. You quickly break into pods of four-per-board and then have game playing sessions with two-per-board. You will be introduced to clocks and speediness to help students become constantly aware and thinking. When you complete your move, you begin anticipating your next.

Mutual Minecraft
Minecraft is a game about placing blocks to create digital worlds. Originally, children built structures to protect against nocturnal monsters, but as the game grew, players worked together to create wonderful, imaginative things. Minecraft can also be about adventuring with friends or watching the sun rise over a blocky (yet pretty) ocean. Brave players battle terrible things in The Nether, which is more scary than pretty. You cal also visit a land of mushrooms if it sounds more like your cup of tea. Kids Corner instructors serve as guides, they teach the initial aspects and then let students use their creativity to venture on their own. Students can bring their laptops or use a computer at Kids Corner.
